In the School of Marxism, there are six teaching and researching departments, one network laboratory for ideological and political education theory courses, one post-doctoral work management office, one international student education management office as well as three research centers, of which, the ecological civilization research center is the key research base for both the social sciences of the Heilongjiang Education Department and the Heilongjiang Philosophy and Social Science Department. The School has one postdoctoral research station of the first level discipline of Marxism theory, where there are four postdoctoral researchers at present, one doctoral program of the second level discipline of ideological and political education, where there are five doctoral supervisors, one master’s degree program of the first level discipline of Marxism theory, with four sub-discipline programs that are currently enrolling students. Currently, we have 22 master’s supervisors, and more than 120 full-time postgraduate students, among which are three international doctoral candidates.
Currently, there are 32 full-time teachers in the school, including six professors, 17 associate professors. 22 of the faculty have a Ph.D. or are studying for a Ph.D., and seven have a Master’s degree. Among the 6 professors, two are members of the Educational Instructional Committee of the Ministry of Education, one is the director of the Heilongjiang Educational Instructional Committee, and four are members of the Heilongjiang Educational Instructional Committee. In 2013, the School was awarded the “Excellent Graduate Supervisor Team of Heilongjiang Province”. In 2014, one teacher won the honorary title of the “Teaching Expert of National College Ideological and Political Theory Course”.
Adhering to the spirit of forging ahead and bold innovation, the School has made satisfactory achievements in the field of teaching, researching and talent-cultivation. “Three-Orientation” teaching method, “1+X+Y” evaluation mode and “Three-in-One” practical teaching mode have been adopted in ideological and political theory courses, highlighting the pertinence of the courses and realizing the unification of the theoretical properties, the epochal character and the effectiveness of the course. Peer experts and superior administrative departments recognize the distinctive feature of ecological civilization education in NEFU. It has a favorable influence on universities throughout the province even entire country, and has been reported on by national level news media like the Guangming Daily.
In recent years, staff have won five provincial level teaching achievement awards, including the 1st and 2nd prize, and six provincial and ministerial level achievement awards of humanistic and social science, including the 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize.We have more than 70 research projects approved, including national philosophy and social science fund projects, humanities and social sciences projects funded by the Ministry of Education, Heilongjiang province philosophy and social science fund project, and the national education science planning project. All of the young teachers have their own research projects, and the School has published 12 high-level monographs and over 200 academic papers.
