Disciplines

Objective: The objective of the discipline of business administration is to train professionals that master economics and management and are skilled in quantitative and qualitative analysis. The discipline aims for innovative graduates that can carry out academic research and social practice.

Secondary disciplines: There are four secondary disciplines subordinate to the business administration. They are the accounting, tourism, industrial economics and management, and the business administration. The research objective of the accounting discipline is forestry accounting, forestry auditing, financial management and forestry financial management, and forestry resource and asset calculations. The research objective of the business administration is forestry business management, business production and operations research, marketing and strategic management. The research objective of the tourism management is ecological tourism development and management, regional tourism planning and management, band tourism economics and tourism management. The research objective of the business administration is forestry economics analysis, forestry industrial innovation and management, and forestry project financing and asset operations.

Faculty: There are 43 full time teachers, of whom 6 are professors, 29 associate professors, 8 lecturers, 3 Ph.D. supervisors, 33 master supervisors. 80% of the teachers have obtained Ph.D. degrees, and 40% of the teachers have studied overseas.

Advantage: First, the teaching team. The discipline has a team well-structured in age, learning relationship, and knowledge. Second, professionals training. The discipline has advanced labs and practice bases. Third, the combination of production, learning and research. The discipline coordinates with northeast forestry businesses and northeast manufacturing bases. It helps in both training talents and academic research.

Specials: Research in stated-owned forestry business management and system innovation based on the stated owned forestry area. Research in forestry accounting and forestry resource and asset calculation. Research in forest-ecological tourism.

The goal of talent training according to the secondary disciplines: The accounting trains innovative senior accountants that can solve practical problems and master accounting knowledge. The business administration trains senior management talents that master economics, management, and have insights in management modes and operations. The tourism management trains senior tourism management talents that master tourism planning, ecological tourism, tourism business management and tourism economics. The industrial economics trains talents that are innovative in the field, who can carry out the research in industrial economics management. The department trains many talents in the field for society. There were 43 master’s graduates in 2013, 49 in 2014 and 53 in 2015.

Research achievements: During the twelfth five-year plan period, the teachers of the discipline chaired 8 national programs, and 50 provincial and business programs. The program funding reached 3 million yuan. The teachers have published 143 papers, among which more than 50 are indexed by CSSCI, CSCD, and EI. The teachers have published 4 books, and have been awarded for achievements in their field more than 10 times.

Social service: The discipline of business administration has devoted to social service and achieved great achievements.

First, in providing training. The discipline has provided training to Heilongjiang Forestry Industrial Bureau, China Southern Airline Heilongjiang Branch, Harbin Tourism Bureau, and Inner Mongolia Tumuji state owned natural reserve.

Second, in providing consultancy. The discipline has provided consultancy to Harbin Tourism Regulations, the Heilongjiang Forestry Industrial Bureau tourism plan, the Harbin rural area tourism society, to the State Finance Department on accounting policies, and to northeast state owned area reform.

Third, in yielding research. Based on our research, the discipline provides suggestion to northeast forestry area transformation and business reform. The discipline helped in project feasibility analysis, scenario area plan, and marketing.

Fourth, in holding academic conferences and publishing academic periodicals. Based on the China Forestry Business Management Society, the discipline has held a national business management conference and a forestry accounting international conference. The discipline has created two national periodicals, Green Accounting and China Forestry Economics.
