Recently, the Work Summary and Commendation Conference of the 2016 Heilongjiang Higher Education Faculty Training & the Professional Training Conference of Liaison Staff for the Higher Education Faculty Pre-employment Training were convened in Harbin Normal University. Leaders from the Education Department of Heilongjiang Province, the Heilongjiang Teachers Training Center for Higher Education as well as more than 100 representatives of 82 colleges and universities across the province were present at the Conference. The Conference summarized the 2016 Faculty Training comprehensively and awarded the advanced collectives and individuals in the 2016 Heilongjiang Higher Education Faculty Training. The Office of Academic Affairs of NEFU (Center for Teachers and Teaching Development) won the honorary title of Advanced Collective for the 2016 Heilongjiang Higher Education Faculty Training. Li Decai from the Center for Teachers and Teaching Development won the honorary title of Advanced Individual for the 2016 Heilongjiang Higher Education Faculty Training. This year, there are 15 institutions of higher learning awarded the title of advanced collective and 30 personnel conferred the title of advanced individual.
NEFU attaches great importance to the cultivation and training of our faculty and pays close attention to the development of teachers and teaching. Since its founding in 2012, the Center for Teachers and Teaching Development has played a vital role in facilitating the professional development of teachers and has taken an active part in meeting the need of connotation construction to increase investment, implement standard management and enhance service depended on the advantage of resources. Its objective is to pursue prominent teaching quality, carry forward the innovative teaching culture, popularize the advanced educational concepts and set up a harmonious service platform. The Center, focused on the requirement of the teaching reform as well as the need of teachers, is engaged in serving the enhancement of teachers’ teaching capacity, setting up a platform for learning and interaction and guiding the development of teachers; diversifying training patterns, intensifying ability enhancement; improving the working mechanism, serving professional development, perfecting condition construction, optimizing training capabilities, actively promoting the institutionalization, standardization and normalization of the enhancement of NEFU faculty’s teaching competence, and establishing a system to advance teaching capacities featuring “Trinity” including the university, the college and the fundamental teaching departments. With remarkable achievement, the Center has been acclaimed by the faculty, colleagues from other universities as well as senior administrative departments. (Li Decai)
