Liu Peipei, a master’s student from the College of Material Science and Engineering (Ministry of Education Key Laboratory of Biomaterial Science and Technology), has solved the shortage problem of synergies between components in the furfuryl alcohol and nitroxyl resin composite modified wood technology, and has greatly improved the dimensional stability and decay resistance of wood. The scientific research achievement “A Method for Preparing Antiseptic Wood Using Low Molecular Organic Agents” has obtained an authorized invention patent. Under the guidance of the NEFU Science and Technology Park, the patent was recently successfully transferred to Hebei Youlin Technology Co., Ltd. for production and application.

As an important inventor of the patent, under the guidance of Professor Xie Yanjun and Engineer Wang Haigang, Liu Peipei repeatedly explored the process optimization, focusing on the needs of the enterprises for environmental protection and efficient wood modification technology and finally, after a number of failures she succeeded. The transfer of the invention patent is the result of a number of research innovations and technology industrialized measures taken by the College of Material Science and Engineering (Key Laboratory). It has inspired the graduate students to do research with enthusiasm, enhanced the quality of graduate students in high-level training, and promoted the close cooperation between production, study, and research.
