On May 6, 44 junior undergraduate students from NEFU officially became the first interns of the “China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Limited classes,” which is a new type of internship model, combining payment, internship, and employment.
Internship is a key step of the cultivation of professionals in colleges and universities. In reality, however, an internship often means a “visiting company” of students led by teachers, and an embarrassing situation in which companies do not want to receive, students do not want to participate, and teachers do not want to lead.
At the beginning of this year, with the meticulous organization and preparation of the graduate employment guidance center, NEFU and the China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd. signed a comprehensive internship base construction agreement, under which the two sides agreed to cooperate in personnel training, on-the-job training, scientific research, etc. Three parties can benefit from the establishment of the new model of comprehensive internship base. The enterprise can discover and attract the outstanding graduates to enterprise employment by selecting internship students according to the job requirements and students’ performance in the interview before the internship; students can get an employment opportunity as well as a certain salary and accumulation of practical experience when they actively complete the internship tasks; schools can ensure the internship quality by building a bridge for enterprises and students so that the internship becomes meaningful.
After the students’ application, NEFU and the enterprise selected from the College of Civil Engineering, the College of Economics and Management, the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering, and the College of Humanities and Law a total of 44 students to become the first interns of the “China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Limited classes”. They will participate in some of the trainings before they start the internship to get themselves familiar with the corporate culture and the business management model, in order to meet the requirements of paid internships and lay the foundation for the in-depth enterprise practice.
Li Bin, Vice President of our school, attended the opening ceremony and issued the letter of appointment of visiting professor of Northeast Forestry University for the representatives of the enterprises, who will conduct special training for the students in the future.
The standing committee member of the CPC Committee, executive vice president, director of China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Limited Xu Yuanfeng attended the ceremony. The general manager assistant, deputy secretary of the Commission for Discipline Inspection, general manager of human resources, and deputy director of the second branch of the School of Management Pei Hongsen gave an opening speech. Ge Hao, one of the students of the “China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Limited classes”, a road and bridge engineering student from the College of Civil Engineering, spoke as a student representative.
The general manager assistant of China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Limited, the secretary of the party committee, and chairman of the Northeast branch Shi Guanghui gave a lecture named “The status and development prospects of the construction industry”. The deputy secretary of the party committee, general manager of the Northeast Branch of China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Limited Yu Liyi conducted a specialized course entitled “A brief introduction to the key construction technology of national key construction projects of China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Limited and BIM technology construction application”.
Subsequently, Ma Ligong, the Secretary of the Party committee, and the Chairman of the Fourth Construction Engineering Co., Ltd of China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Limited guided all the students of the “China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Limited class” to the Harbin Wenlvcheng Wandamao project of China Construction Second Engineering Bureau Co., Ltd.
