It will be held once a year from now on. The competition this year attracted a total of 1,903 teams from 263 colleges and universities, including Peking University, Tsinghua University and Zhejiang University. Eventually 108 teams from 78 colleges and universities came to the finals, of which 50 of the 41 colleges won the first prize. The organizing committee published the competition charter on March 25, 2017. After receiving the invitation to participate, the College of Life Sciences had selected seven teams to participate in the competition through application, pre-selection, defense and expert review.
The competition was the test of scientific research and experimental ability. Lasted eight months, the competition put more emphasis on process evaluation, compared with other competitions. During the competition, the participating teams should use their spare time to conduct experimental design, carry out experimental research or field investigation, record the experiment or investigation process, obtain the experiment or investigation result, and upload the experiment record and dissertation on the network. The competition was more realistic on assessment of scientific level of college students.
In the final stage of this competition, the contents of each participating team and the mastership of the basic theories and research methods of the project were investigated in the form of on-site reply and material examination. According to the content of the team's statement, the judges asked questions and made comments on professionalism, scientificity and preciseness of the teams. Students of NEFU competed with the students from Peking University, Fudan University, Sun Yat-sen University and other colleges and won three first prizes. It fully demonstrates the overall quality and innovative ability of our students, which also shows that teaching and personnel training in NEFU have made a great achievement.
