On March 22nd, Professor Jiang Jianchun, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, was hired by NEFU to serve as a part-time distinguished professor in the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education. President Li Bin, Fu Yujie, Director of the Key Laboratory of the Ministry of Education, and Wang Yulong, Director of the Personnel and Expert Work Office, attended the appointment ceremony held at the Forest Chemical Industry Institute of the Chinese Academy of Forestry.

At the appointment ceremony, President Li Bin expressed his welcome and thanks on behalf of the teachers and students of NEFU for the appointment of Academician Jiang Jianchun. He pointed out that Jiang’s joining would surely promote the implementation of the “Talent Development Strategy” of NEFU and promote the construction and development of “Double First Class”. President Li Bin issued a letter of appointment to Academician Jiang Jianchun on behalf of NEFU.

Jiang Jianchun is an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering. He is a former director and secretary of the Party Committee of the Forest Chemical Industry Institute of the Chinese Academy of Forestry, and the director of the National Forest Chemical Engineering Technology Research Center. Jiang has been engaged in research on the thermochemical transformation of agricultural and forestry biomass for more than 30 years. He has innovated the basic theories and methods for thermochemical directional transformation of agricultural and forestry biomass, and has broken through with key technologies of thermochemical conversion for the preparation of high-quality liquid fuels, biogas, and activated carbon materials. The multi-channel biomass utilization engineering technology system has been constructed, which has effectively promoted the development of China's agricultural and forestry biomass industry. He has been awarded 4 national science and technology progress awards (3 second prizes ), 1 Chinese patent excellence award, 7 provincial and ministerial level scientific and technological awards. He has published 1 book and 318 papers (including 68 SCI papers and 65 papers indexed by EI), and has had 69 invention patents authorized.
