On the afternoon of May 27, after the completion of all scheduled events of the 54thNEFU Sun and Athletics Sports Meeting, the closing ceremony was held at the track-and-field ground, chaired by Li Shaoxian, Director of the Physical Education Department.
In this sports meeting, 24 events in 5 major categories were held. 1700 participants broke 2 and matched 1 university sports. Leaders also took part in the two-day competition, leading teachers and students to enjoy the fun of physical exercise, enhance physiques, cultivate personality and character. On the previous day, despite the incessant rain, athletes competed their hardest in various heats, showing the NEFUer’s spirit of “unity and struggle, self-motivation, giving full play to advantages and striving for first-class”.
More than 880,000 netizens watched the live sports through the platform provided by Hangzhou Unlimited Time Technology Co. LTD., founded by alumnus Liu Darui, and experienced the positive and high morale of NEFUers.
At the closing ceremony, splendid shows were performed by students from Martial Arts Association and Tai Chi Association, respectively.
As the chief referee, Yu Zhanyou announced the competition results that teams of the School of Economics and Management in the students’ group and Logistic Support Department in the teachers’ group won the first place in total scores of men’s team, women’s team, and men’s and women’s team separately.
Li Jingcai, Secretary of the School Youth League Committee, declared results of PE Morality Award for students. Moreover, the annual list of “Top Ten Athletes” from 2021 to 2022, team results of the annual “Dean Cup” series from 2021 to 2022, and the list of advanced units of the Student Sports Meeting was revealed by Wang Xiaojian, Deputy Director of the Physical Education Department.
