Recently, the results of the 5th British Ecology Design Awards, 2022, directed by the UK Department of the Environment, organized by the British Ecology Design Association, and hosted by AMC Environmental Research were announced. The works “Sustainable Bus Stop Design”, “Animal Records” and “Lingzhi Chair” submitted by the team of industrial design students Kang Yuanyuan, Liu Yutong, Liu Zhi Ao and Zhang Tong from the School of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering and Song Zhuoyu from the School of Wildlife and Nature Conservation won three bronze awards.
The British Ecology Design Award (BEDA) is a design competition that integrates creativity and sustainability, and is held annually in Sheffield, Germany. The competition aims to improve communication between artists and designers from different regions, raise the overall level of design and art creation, build a good ecological health, help everyone pay attention to ecology and sustainable development and ecological conservation.
The competition requires participants to design around key words such as “environmental protection, ecology, sustainability, development, life, health and safety” to stimulate creative enthusiasm and call on more people to work together to maintain ecological balance and promote sustainable development. The excellent result is a high recognition of the excellent professionalism and knowledge of our students and teachers, and fully demonstrates the excellent work of our university in ecological civilization education.
