Innovation Empowers National Strategy: The Heilongjiang Provincial Competition of the18th China University Computer Design Contest Held at NEFU

On April 26th, the Heilongjiang Provincial Competition for the 2025 (18th) China University Computer Design Contest was successfully held at NEFU. The event attracted 426 teams and over 1,720 students from 45 universities across the province, including prominent institutions like Harbin Institute of Technology and Harbin Engineering University, who competed on the same stage. This included participation from 35 undergraduate institutions and 10 vocational colleges, with 426 submitted works. Both the number of participating works and universities reached a historical high.

This competition was guided by the Higher Education Department of the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education and jointly organized by the Heilongjiang Provincial Steering Committee for Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education in Regular Higher Education Institutions and the Organizing Committee of the China University Computer Design Contest Heilongjiang Provincial Competition. NEFU’s College of Computer Science and Control Engineering served as the host.

This competition was guided by national strategic needs, focusing on accelerating the development of new quality productive forces and enhancing new drivers for growth. The submitted works spanned 10 major categories and 44 minor tracks, including Software Application and Development, Micro-courses and AI-assisted Teaching, Internet of Things Applications, Big Data Applications, Artificial Intelligence Applications, Information Visualization Design, Digital Media Static Design, Digital Media Animation and Short Films, and Digital Media Games and Interactive Design. The projects centered around various fields such as digital construction, artificial intelligence, and excellent traditional Chinese culture, demonstrating substantial disciplinary advantages and offering innovative solutions to real-world application problems.

The competition awarded 49 first-place projects, 99 second-place projects, and 140 third-place projects. Winning entries from the undergraduate group will be selectively recommended to participate in the national final of the China University Computer Design Contest.

The China University Computer Design Contest was initiated in 2007, with the first edition in 2008. To date, 17 editions comprising 86 events have been held, and it is recognized as a ranked competition on the national list for higher education institutions. The contest aims to provide a platform for university students to enhance their employment skills, professional capabilities, and innovation and entrepreneurship abilities, contributing to cultivating well-rounded talents with a strong sense of teamwork and innovative and entrepreneurial spirit across ethical, intellectual, physical, and aesthetic dimensions.
