A special session of the Harbin Science and Technology Market focused on achievements in the bioeconomy sector was recently co-hosted by Northeast Forestry University and the Harbin Science and Technology Bureau. The event was part of broader efforts to advance the “Breakthrough Year for the Industrialization of Scientific and Technological Achievements” and implement the university-level “Three Initiatives and Three Promotions” campaign, which aims to promote technological transformation through enterprise engagement, drive industrial upgrading through park integration, and support rural revitalization through county-level collaboration.
The event brought together officials from Department of Science and Technology of Heilongjiang Province, the Harbin Bureau of Science and Technology Bureau, the Harbin Technical Market Service Center, and Industrial Technology Research Institute of Heilongjiang, along with Yu Haipeng, Vice President and Standing Committee member of the Northeast Forestry University Party Committee, relevant officials from the Research Institute, an expert presentation team, specialists in related fields and representatives from enterprises, financial institutions, and industry associations within the bioeconomy sector. Together, they worked to promote the transformation of scientific achievements into industrial applications.

Vice President Yu Haipeng outlined NEFU’s key initiatives to advance the transformation of scientific and technological achievements. He expressed hope that more enterprises would take an interest in NEFU’s transferable research outcomes and welcomed investment institutions to collaborate with research teams. These partnerships aim to accelerate the implementation of scientific outcomes in Heilongjiang province and contribute to the region’s high-quality economic development.
Zhao Lei, a member of the Party Leadership Group and Deputy Director of the Harbin Science and Technology Bureau, encouraged participating enterprises to engage with and support NEFU’s innovations closely. He stated that the bureau would continue leveraging the events of the Harbin Science and Technology Market to precisely align with the demands of enterprise and foster the local commercialization of more innovative outcomes, thereby injecting sustained momentum into Harbin’s industrial development. The conference highlighted NEFU’s cutting-edge achievements in the fields of bio-agriculture, biomaterials, and biomedicine. Six representative technologies were presented, including the industrialization of plant-derived organic acid-based foliar fertilizers, plant-based wound healing dressings, and injectable hydrogel microspheres for bone defect repair, showcasing the university’s strong capacity for innovation in the bioeconomy sector.

At the event, Professor Huang Zhanhua from the College of Materials Science and Engineering signed a cooperation agreement with Shengqi Crop Protection Heilongjiang Co., Ltd. for the project titled “Key Preparation Technology for Multifunctional Plant-Derived Organic Acid Foliar Fertilizer,” with a contract valued at RMB 5 million.

Moving forward, NEFU will accelerate the transformation of research outcomes from laboratory to market, offering robust technical support to enterprises, fueling scientific advancement within the institution, and contributing the university’s wisdom and strength to the comprehensive revitalization of Heilongjiang province.
