From June 28 to July 4, Li Mingze, Member of the Standing Committee of the CPC Committee and Vice President of the University, led a delegation on an official visit to Australia and New Zealand. During the visit, the delegation met with representatives from universities, research institutions, and government agencies and reached a series of substantive agreements on future cooperation.

During the visit to Australia, the delegation visited the Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA), the University of Tasmania, the Tasmanian Department of State Growth, the Australian Future Education Institute (AFEI), the University of Adelaide, and the University of Technology Sydney (UTS). At TIA and the Tasmanian Department of State Growth, Vice President Li held in-depth discussions with Professor Michael Rose, Director of TIA, and David Bennett, Executive Director of the Department of State Growth. The two sides explored opportunities for joint postgraduate education, collaboration in traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), and industry–education–research integration projects focused on the deep processing of Chinese medicinal materials, as well as implementation plans for these initiatives.

At the Australian Future Education Institute, the delegation met with President Iain Watt. The two sides held extensive discussions and reached broad consensus on future cooperation. They agreed to establish the China–Australia Joint Food Health and Herbal Medicine Laboratory for Traditional Chinese Medicinal Resources and the Regional and Country Studies Center for Cross-border Education, marking a new stage of deeper integration and collaborative innovation in education and scientific research.

At the University of Adelaide, Vice President Li met with Deputy Vice-Chancellor Lori Hocking. The two sides reached a preliminary consensus on cooperative education programs and focused their discussions on the application for a Sino-foreign cooperative education institution.

At the University of Technology Sydney, Vice President Li met with Acting Deputy Vice-Chancellor Innes Ireland. Both sides agreed to expand articulation pathways for degree programs in Computer Science and Technology and in Economic Statistics, to upgrade the existing “3+2” integrated bachelor’s–master’s program, and to further refine cooperation on postgraduate admissions, jointly supervised postgraduate training under the national enrollment plan, and short-term overseas professional development programs for faculty members.

During the New Zealand visit, the delegation visited the University of Auckland and the New Zealand Office of the Australian Future Education Institute. At the University of Auckland, Vice President Li held in-depth discussions with Provost Erik Lithander on student recruitment for the University and the Hainan Aulin College, joint laboratory development, postgraduate admissions, and overseas training opportunities for faculty.

At the New Zealand Office of the Australian Future Education Institute, Vice President Li and President Iain Watt jointly unveiled the Northeast Forestry University New Zealand Learning Center.
