About the Speaker
Guoqing Huang, born in October, 1976, earned his bachelor’s degree from Dalian University of Technology in 1997 and his Ph.D. from Texas Tech University, USA in 2008. After graduation, he worked as a professional engineer for ABKJ, a well-known consulting engineering firm in the USA. From September, 2011 until now, he has been working at the College of Civil Engineering of Southeast Jiaotong University and devoting himself to the research of the wind resistance and random vibration of bridge structure. Since he came back to China, he has published about 20 articles on world-renowned SCI journals, such as JEM, JSE, JWEIA and PREM. Currently, he serves as a member of the editorial board ofWind and Structure, a leading SCI journal in wind engineering and a guest editor of the special issue ofWind and Structures, which is expected to be published by the end of this year. He has presided over multiple projects including Surface Projects of National Natural Science Foundation of China and Youth Projects of Sichuan Province and applied for more than 10 patents, some of which have been granted. He has won R.D. Marshall Outstanding Ph. D. Thesis Award and the Fund of the Thousand Talents Plan.
