1.Title: A Report on the Study Visit of Auburn University

About the Speaker

Cao Chuanwang, Ph.D., Professor, Ph.D. Supervisor, member of the Youth Working Committee, Chinese Society of Forestry, is mainly engaged in the teaching and research on Insect toxicology and environmental toxicology. Prof. Cao Chuanwang has undertaken 16 programs including the programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, the Natural Science Foundation of Heilongjiang Province of China, the Young Talent Science and Technology Innovation Fund of Harbin Municipal Science and Technology Commission, the Youth Top-notch Talent Support Program of NEFU and the Fundamental Research Fund for the Central Universities; participated in 6 programs involving the special program of the Preliminary Study of the National Basic Research Program (973 Program), 863 Program and the National Forestry Public Welfare Research Program of China. Prof. Cao Chuanwang published over 50 research papers, 18 of which have been indexed in SCI, and 4 books as chief editor, associate editor and coeditor, specialized in the teaching of 6 courses such as Insect Toxicology and Forest Entomology etc. Prof. Cao won the Second Prize and the Third Prize of the Heilongjiang Science and Technology Progress Award and China Forestry Youth Science and Technology Award, applying for 7 patents, 4 of which have been granted. From October 2009 to October 2010, Prof. Cao conducted a study visit in the Department of Entomology and Plant Pathology of College of Agriculture, Auburn University.

About the Speaker

Gao Caiqiu, Ph.D., Professor and Ph.D. Supervisor, is mainly engaged in the research on the Molecular Biology of Stress Resistance in Wood. Prof. Gao Caiqiu enrolled in the New Century Talent Supporting Project by the Ministry of Education in 2013, won the First Prize of the Heilongjiang Science and Technology Award (Natural Science), the Second Prize of the Liang Xi Forestry Science and Technology Award, the thirteenth China Forestry Youth Science and Technology Award and the Third Prize of the fifteenth of Henry Fok Ying-tung Award for Young Teachers of Higher Institution. Prof. Gao Caiqiu has undertaken 18 programs, including the Youth Foundation Programs and General Programs of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, sub-projects of 863 Program of China and Youth Top-notch Talent Support Program of NEFU. Prof. Gao Caiqiu published more than 20 research papers that have been indexed in SCI, 1 treatise and 1 textbook as an associate editor and participated in the translation of 1 book. From February 2014 to February 2015, Prof. Gao Caiqiu conducted a study visit in the Department of Horticulture, Purdue University.
