Recently, associate professor Wang Hongwei completed the training for China’s university teachers of environmental law, and was accredited by the Academy of Environmental Law of International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN).
The Academy of Environmental Law is an academic institute established by IUCN, aiming to promote the development of environmental law systems, and the development of teaching and research in international societies and countries. It, on behalf of the IUCN, organizes academic exchanges and practice activities in the field of global environmental law.
From October 17th to 21st, aiming to cultivate leading talents and excellent teachers of environmental law, the training of China’ s university teachers in environmental law under the “Regional Capacity Development Technical Assistance—Strengthening Capacity for Environmental Law in the Asia-Pacific: Developing Environmental Law Champions – Train – the - Trainers Program” was co-hosted by theResources Energy and Environmental Law Institute of Peking University Law School and theIUCN Academy of Environmental Law.
Wang Hongwei is the Disciplinary Secretary for the College of Humanities and Law, and committed to the teaching, and scientific research of environmental law. In 2016, he acquired nationally sponsored Social Sciences Funding, which was a first for the College of Humanities and Law, and made outstanding achievement in his research field. By selection, associate professor Wang was admitted as a member of the training course on China’s university teachers of environmental law, and acquired the qualification granted by IUCN Academy of Environmental Law.
The qualification acquired by associate professor Wang represents the achievement of teaching and research in the discipline of environment and resource protection. It also expands the discipline’s domestic influence, and will promote its development.
