Recently, three teachers from the College of Mechanical and Electrical Engineering won first, second, and third places in the Second National College and University Engineering Applied Technology Contest for Teachers. Northeast Forestry University was also awarded “Excellent Organization”

The final contest took place in Zhejiang University (Zijingang Campus). The National College and University Engineering Applied Technology Contest set 16 competitive events focusing on five major themes including Modern Manufacturing, Environment and New Resources, Automatic Systems, Electronic and Information Engineering, and Electrical Engineering. The contest aimed to improve the practical abilities of teachers who teach engineering, to promote teachers’ organization of “outstanding engineers”, and to enrich the training of engineering talents in higher education.

After the preliminary online contest, 211 contestants from 106 colleges and universities entered the final contest. The review group was organized by 2 professors of The Chinese Academy of Engineering, and 52 experts from higher education or companies in China. Scores were based on contestants’ live performances in two steps- engineered practices and targeted achievements. In the end, there were 25 first prizes, 54 second prizes, 67 third prizes, and 31 organization prizes. Zhang Yong’sDesign of Programmable Control System won first place. Zhao Hui’sTechnology of Mechanical System Installation and Controlwon second place, and Changtong Li’s Technology of Hydraulic and Pneumatic Transmission won third place. (Zhao Hui)
