Recently, the 2016 China Education Robot Contest was held in the Guanggu Gymnasium of Huazhong University of Science and Technology. 304 teams from nearly 100 universities, including Huazhong University of Science and Technology, Zhejiang University and Nanjing University, from 15 cities, provinces ormunicipalities participated in this contest. Students of Northeast Forestry University participated in the robot innovation contest, robot extinguishing and rescue, travel China by High Speed train, robot challenge combat, and autonomous robot transportation portions of the competition. In the end, the NEFU team won 3 first national prizes, 6 second national prizes, and was awarded Excellent Guiding Teachers after two days of fierce competition.
Concentrating on scientific essential-qualities-oriented education, industrial essential-qualities-oriented education, and industrial technical ability education, the 2016 China Education Robot Contest was held by the Chinese Association for Artificial Intelligence, and was hosted byHuazhong University of Science and Technology, and the Industrial Design Teaching Guidance Committee of the Ministry of Education. The contest aimed to cultivate innovative talents and to enhance educational reform. Being rapidly developed, the China Education Robot Contest has earned widespread attention for its interesting, changeable, comprehensive, and confronted settings of competition in the area of global education.
Teams from NEFU were composed of 15 second and third year students who major in Mechanical Electronics Engineering, Machine Manufacturing, Electrical Engineering and Automation, Telecommunication Engineering, and Packaging Engineering. Their supervising teachers are Yangjia Wu and Sun Xue. Cultivation of innovative talents, the objective of talent training in higher education, is achieved through practical industrial training in the undergraduate innovation laboratory. The quality of talent training has efficiently improved through the active participation of various scientific contests and activities.
