Pan Xuesi, Wang Jing, Xin Xuefeng, and Zhang Chengwu from College of Economics and Management earned second places at the final of National Hotel Management Simulation Contest held in Tianjing from December, 13~15. These third year students who major in Tourism Management formed a team named “Mai Mang”. The NEFU teams “Man Bu Zhe” and “Wan Ru Gui” earned third place.

The College of Tourism and Service Management, Nankai University cooperated with Finland CESIM to hold this contest. It had two parts: a preliminary contest and a final contest. 43 teams (nearly 200 students) coming from different universities throughout China participated in the final contest. These 43 teams were selected from 500 teams in the preliminary contest. NEFU students earned 1 second place and 2 third place awards after fierce competition of network simulation business and commercial exercise.

Leaders from the Office of Academic Affairs and the College of Economics and Management attached great importance and gave strong support to this contest. Participating students’ skills and levels of hotel management were improved after over one month of simulated operation and on-site competition. Students’ professional interest and motivation were stimulated, which promoted the development of Tourism Management.
