On December 9, 2016, an experts group organized by the science and technology division of the Ministry of Education came to NEFU and checked on the Ministry of Education key laboratory (NEFU) construction project of restoration and reconstruction of northeast oil field saline vegetation. The vice president of NEFU Zhao Yusen, Pan Jianping, the executive vice president of science and technology research institute, and Ying Yutian the vice president of NEFU attended the meeting.

The Leader of the panel is Professor Li Yu the academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering. The panel members include Huang Jirong the researcher of Shanghai institute of plant physiological ecology, Professor Li Chunyang from Zhejiang Forestry University, Li Yan, a researcher from Xinjiang geography research institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor Zhang Ying, at the Northeast Agricultural University, and Xia Zhengjun and Bu Qingyun, researchers form northeast institute of geography and agricultural ecology.

At the meeting, laboratory director professor Liu Cankui made a theme report about laboratory construction work and the laboratory development direction. Then, the panel reviewed the laboratory infrastructure and related supporting facilities, and asked questions about laboratory research direction, target orientation, talent team construction, scientific research ability, social contribution, and environmental conditions.

After a discussion, the expert group gave a high evaluation of the laboratory construction project and an affirmation of the national strategic orientation of the laboratory when it serves the development of agriculture and animal husbandry, ecological environment construction and the reserved cultivated land, etc. At the same time, the expert group thought the development of the adversity biology and the technology research on saline-alkali land restoration had important scientific value and application prospects. During the construction, the laboratory had offered Heilongjiang provincial party committee under the state council advice and suggestions on national saline-alkali land management, and the sense of social responsibility and social services consciousness was fully approved by the experts.

Finally, the experts agreed that the laboratory had completed the construction goals, fulfilled the requirements of the construction of the key laboratory of the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Education key laboratory (NEFU) construction project of the restoration and reconstruction of northeast oil field saline vegetation passed the acceptance check.
