In order to further promote the process of fixed-point poverty alleviation work, to carry out the work in the Tailai County, and make it a solid and effective work, NEFU held the 2017 NEFU fixed-point poverty alleviation thematic meeting on March 30. School leaders and the leaders of the poverty alleviation lead group participated the meeting. President Yang Chuanping presided over the meeting.

At the meeting, Chen Wenhui, the deputy secretary of the Party committee and the secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission, conveyed the spirit of the meeting held in Kunming on March 28—The inter-ministerial meeting of poverty alleviation in western Yunnan Province in 2017, namely, the poverty alleviation work promotion meeting of the affiliated institutions and universities directly under the Ministry of Education. Chen introduced the successful experience and the advanced model of fixed-point poverty alleviation work by other Universities. She also conveyed the spirit of the speech by Chen Baosheng, the Minister of Education, who brought up five strategies for the educational poverty alleviation: carrying out the poverty alleviation work with true feelings, adopting hard measures, and exploring new methods; resolutely implement the decision and arrangements by the central government and set an good example, to lead in the promotion of poverty alleviation, to make new contributions in the fight against poverty, and to put forward scientific development programs of poverty alleviation work through strengthening the top design; rely on the advantages of the system and identify the key points to combine the needs of poor counties and the school advantages; strengthen the implementation of responsibility, and establish the assessment mechanism of the annual poverty alleviation work. These strategies pointed out a direction for our school to carry out the fixed-point poverty alleviation work this year.

The meeting passed theNortheast Forestry University’s Fixed-point Poverty Alleviation Work Plan in 2017. It was decided that science and technology poverty alleviation is still the focus of this year’s fixed-point poverty alleviation work, which is to help Tailai County to achieve 2018 poverty alleviation goals from multiple angles. The Plan stresses that the fixed-point poverty alleviation work in 2017 relies mainly on the science and technology poverty alleviation of professor service groups to constantly promote the implementation of the 23 projects brought up at the meeting of Northeast Forestry University Poverty Alleviation on December 29, 2016. NEFU will carry out intellectual support projects like teacher training, forestry cadre training and graduate support education, planning to establish a graduate student innovation and entrepreneurship training base to help the professor service group better carry out the scientific and technological assistance work. Our school will also help to improve the local primary and secondary school conditions, and encourage all the teachers and workers to brainstorm and actively participate in various forms to promote poverty alleviation work in Thailand.

The meeting stressed that fixed-point poverty alleviation work is not only a political task but also a social responsibility, which requires true feelings. Party Secretary Wu Guochun and President Yang Chuanping have expressed their views about the poverty alleviation work in NEFU. Other school leaders also said that they are willing to lead their departments to participate in and undertake poverty alleviation work, to increase investment, expand the direction of poverty alleviation, and effectively implement poverty alleviation work.
