Recently, the Chinese Forestry Society published the the SixthLiang Xi Outstanding Student Award listof winners. Gao Li Kun, Gai Qingyan, Wang Zhanchao, Wang Anna from NEFU won the award.
TheLiang Xi Outstanding Student Awardwas founded to commemorate the famous Chinese forestry scientist and forestry educator Liang Xi with the aims to promote the comprehensive development of forestry college students, encourage forestry college students to establish the scientific spirit of dedication, innovation, truth-seeking, and collaboration, cultivate and create a group of excellent and innovative talents, and accelerate an innovation-driven development strategy and the implementation of said strategy. Once a year, the award is given to undergraduate, master’s students and doctoral students from the National Forestry Institutions of Higher Learning, Agricultural Universities with the College of Forestry, forestry and related majors in comprehensive university, and other related institutions.
There are only 49 students awarded in the selection through layers of screening, which includes a formal examination, preliminary expert review, and a final review by an expert review committee.
The 4 award-winning NEFU students are Gao Likun, wood science and technology professional doctoral student of the year 2016 from the material science and engineering college, Gai qingyan, botany doctoral student of the year 2014 from forest plant ecology Ministry of education key laboratory, Wang Zhanchao, forest Genetic breeding professional doctoral student of the year 2012 form the College of Forestry, and Wang Anna, environmental science undergraduate of the year 2013 from Forestry College.
They are outstanding student representatives of our school. They are hard-working and diligent in their studies, excellent both in academic performance and moral character. Developing themselves comprehensively, they set a good example for the majority of NEFU students. We hope that other students learn from them, working hard, striving to make themselves outstanding students with holistic moral, intellectual, physical, and academic development to make greater contributions to the construction of a beautiful NEFU, forestry science and technology innovation, and the promotion of the development of forestry modernization.
