April in Harbin is good – good for sightseeing, and good for reading. On the morning on April 21st, at the approach of the twenty-second World Reading Day, NEFU held a ceremony to start a series of activities centered around the theme of Reading, second season:Poetry in April—and 2017 Scholarly NEFUReading on the Roadin the library’s multi-function hall A . Participants included sponsors from the Publicity Department of the NEFU CPC Committee, the library, the NEFU Youth League Committee; the school reading promotion committee members; the first and second batch of newly appointed leading readers of the Cheng Dong Academy and more than 100 teachers and students. The ceremony was presided over by librarian Zhao Yilin.
Song Dongguo, Chief of the Publicity Department of the NEFU CPC Committee, delivered a speech at the opening ceremony. He said that books are the carrier of civilization and the treasure-chamber of human thoughts, and reading is the key to the treasure-chamber. Song Dongguo encouraged college students to follow the times during the great rejuvenation of the Chinese nation and to study for the rise of the Chinese nation.
Li Jingcai, deputy secretary of the NEFU Youth League Committee, read out the list of newly appointed readers in the second season and issued the appointment certificate. In the second season of Cheng Dong Academy activities, the following teachers became the new term leading reader members: Wang Bing from the College of Information and Computer Engineering, Huang Peng from the College of Engineering and Technology, and Yuan Ye from the College of Foreign Languages. After the opening ceremony, the Cheng Dong Academy held thePoetry in Aprilclassics reading activity in the multi-function hall. 11 readers read classic prose and poetry with the theme ofQing Ming, Spring, Hope, and Readingto remember the martyrs, meet the spring, and look forward to the future.
Chief librarian Wang Lihai summed up the activities by encouraging students to actively participate in the activities of the Cheng Dong Academy and providing guidance for students to choose and read books.
