Recently, in order to support the protection of plants and wildlife and the construction of ecological civilization related to teaching, research and popularization of science, the Kunming Zoo donated 85 animal hides to the China (Harbin) Forest Museum, some of which are very rare and precious.

On May 5th, Vice President Li Shunlong and museum curator Zhang Guangxian were invited to the donation ceremony held at the Kunming Zoo. On behalf of NEFU, Vice President Li Shunlong expressed his sincere gratitude to the Kunming Zoo, and presented a plaque. The plaque reads: “to protect animals and beautify the environment; to serve the society and assist research.” Vice President Li Shunlong also expressed gratitude to the alumni in Kunming and the relevant leaders of Xishuangbanna National Nature Reserve on behalf of NEFU and thanked them for their support and assistance to the China (Harbin) Forest Museum.

Vice President Li Shunlong also came to an agreement with the Kunming Zoo. They identified the Kunming Zoo as a base for undergraduate teaching practice. At the same time, more than 5,000 species from tropical rainforests will be collected from Yunnan and then made into specimens over the next three to five years.
