On the afternoon of September 12th, a delegation of University of Western Australia headed by the Vice President Ian Van visited NEFU with the purpose of talking over the joint cultivation of postgraduate programs. A colloquium was held in the eighth conference room in the administrative building. Li Bin, President and Deputy Secretary of the CPC Committee of NEFU, along with heads of departments concerned were present. The entourage included Wang Jing, Director of Australia Education Management Group, and heads of departments of the Group.
President Li Bin extended a warm welcome to the guests and reviewed the course of the long-term collaboration between NEFU and UWA. He affirmed that the two universities have established friendly cooperative relations, made remarkable achievements in the pragmatic cooperation concerning student cultivation and gained unanimous acknowledgement of both students and parents. He hoped that further advancement and development in terms of postgraduate programs would be fulfilled, which is also a critical initiative in boosting NEFU’s collaboration with international institutions of higher learning.
Vice president Ian Van expressed his sincere gratitude for the hospitable reception of NEFU as well as his delight to meet his old friends again in NEFU. He remarked that the joint cultivation of postgraduate programs is still in the stage of exploration, but UWA is keen on it. He hoped that the progress of joint cultivation would be advanced in short period since the previous cooperation with NEFU was highly effective.
During the colloquium, matters related to the following collaboration have been further discussed. Wang Jing, Director of the Australia Education Management Group, gave a brief description about the details of the cooperation.
