From September 25 to 29,at the invitation of Vincent Malibi, Acting President of the University of Papua New Guinea, Zhang Zhikeng, Secretary of the Party Committee of NEFU, led a delegation to visit the school.
During the visit, the delegation held talks with the president, who is Malaysian. During the talks, the two sides reached an agreement on the joint development of Confucius Institutes and held in-depth talks on strengthening the exchanges and cooperation between the two schools, and reached a broad consensus and signed a cooperation framework agreement.
After the talks, our delegation visited the school, student dormitories, dining halls and libraries, accompanied by the school authorities, and examined the facilities and facilities of the Confucius Institute for the Confucius Institute, and held the Northeast Forestry University Special enrollment promotion meeting.
During the visit, the delegation visited the Chinese embassy in the Republic of Papua New Guinea and held talks with Ambassador Xue Bing. Ambassador Xue Bing welcomed the arrival of our delegation and introduced the local demand for Chinese language and culture. He said that the embassy would fully support the construction of Confucius Institutes and hoped that our school would work closely with the University of Papua New Guinea and cooperate as soon as possible to build a Papua Confucius Institute at the University of New Guinea.
Papua New Guinea University was founded in 1965, is Papua New Guinea's first domestic comprehensive university, and is also a well-known university in the Pacific region. The school is located in the capital of Port Moresby, with a campus area of 405 hectares, and with more than 6,000 students. The school has a total of 103 specialties, including the school of humanities and social sciences, the school of law, the school of medicine and health sciences, the institute of natural and physical sciences, the school of business and public policy. Since its founding, the school has cultivated a large number of talents, including three prime ministers, a number of cabinet ministers, scientists and other distinguished alumni.
In addition, our delegation also visited the China-Papua New Guinea Friendship Association (CCB) and discussed future cooperation.
