On the morning of November 14th, commissioned by the Department of Science and Technology in the Ministry of Education, the expert team of 6 people came to NEFU to carry out safety management inspection on scientific research laboratories, which was led by Lan Minbo, professor and director of the Key Laboratory of Functional Material Chemistry in East China University of Science and Technology, with Zhang Jie serving as the observer from the Network Information Office of the Education Development Center in the Ministry of science and Technology.
The expert team listened to the report on the laboratory safety work in the conference room, locating on the eighth floor of the Office Building, and held the on-site supervision. Vice President Zhou Hongli attended the meeting with the heads of relevant offices and the people in charge of laboratory safety.
Vice President Zhou Hongli extended warm welcome to the expert team. He hoped that the experts would put forward valuable suggestions for the safety management of the scientific research laboratories in NEFU.
Chen Lijun, deputy director of the Laboratory and Equipment Management Department, made a report from three aspects: the overall situation of laboratory safety, the existing problems, and the rectification measures.
The expert team consulted the safety management rules and regulations of NEFU, and conducted on-site supervision in the College of Life Science, the College of Science, the Key Laboratory of Biomass Science and Technology of the Ministry of education, and the National Key Laboratory of Forest Genetics and Breeding.
In the afternoon, the inspection feedback meeting was held in the conference room on the eighth floor of the Office Building.
The expert team agreed that the safety management on scientific research laboratories in NEFU had made great progress compared with last year, and remarkable results had been achieved. The expert team also gave feedback on the problems found in the examination, and put forward suggestions on the future laboratory safety management in NEFU.
Vice President Zhou Hongli appreciated the experts for their valuable comments and suggestions. He pointed out that NEFU would earnestly rectify the existing problems, further strengthen the laboratory safety education, improve the laboratory safety system, and enhance ability to deal with emergency cases and incidents, so as to better conform to the laboratory safety requirements.
