On November 21th, NEFU Work Arrangements Conference for the Construction of High-level Universities in Heilongjiang Province was Held in the Conference Room on the 8th floor of the Administrative Building. President Li Bin attended the conference and the heads of relevant functional departments, colleges and laboratories were present at the conference.

Zou Hongfei, executive deputy dean of the Graduate School of NEFU delivered an introduction to the background of this work arrangements conference. Recently, in accordance with the Overall Implementation Scheme on the Advancement of the Construction of High-level Universities and Outstanding Characteristic Disciplines in Heilongjiang Province, the Department of Education of Heilongjiang Province issued the Notification on the Formulation of Schemes on the Construction of High-level Universities and Outstanding Characteristic Disciplines to require all the universities selected into the list of the Construction Program to formulate construction schemes. According to the Provincial Implementation Scheme, selected into the list of “Double First-class Initiative” of China, NEFU should arrange the submission of construction schemes based on the requirements of the Notification of the Department of Education. Qu Hongliang, deputy dean of the Graduate School made a detailed division about the formulation of discipline construction schemes, demanding the relevant departments to submit related materials concerning construction objectives, construction basis, construction contents, expected effects as well as organization guarantee.

President Li Bin gave a couple of suggestions for the formulation of discipline construction schemes: the construction schemes should be closely combined with the connotative development and comprehensive reform of NEFU, assigning the construction mission for the following 5 years; making appropriate arrangements according to the time schedule and integrating the work arrangements of disciplines, colleges and our university together in a proper manner; encouraging the construction of discipline groups so as to enhance discipline strength via discipline overlap; focusing on the heart of talent cultivation and devising the discipline construction schemes centering on the grand national strategic goal and requirement, adhering to the leading research orientation of the world and accomplishing the cutting-edge research achievements around the globe.

In the end, President Li Bin stressed that NEFU should stick to the development pattern characterized by quality, environment protection, innovation and collaboration in order to advance the comprehensive strength of NEFU in an all-round way.
