On the afternoon of December 22nd, a special orientation meeting introducing the thought of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China was held by the College of Foreign Languages. The foreign teachers working in the College of Foreign Languages attended the meeting, four of whom come from the United States and one from Japan. Comrade Yang Binzhang, secretary of the CPC Party Committee of the College of Foreign Languages, the chief speaker, also presided over the orientation meeting.

Following the successful closure of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, the CPC Party Committee and the primary Party organizations of the College of Foreign Languages took positive actions promptly to motivate a tide of enthusiasm about understanding and internalizing the thought of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. In the context of passionate learning, a couple of foreign teachers expressed their desire to know about the thought of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and the new requirements for higher education formulated by the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China. Through careful discussion, the CPC Party Committee of the College of Foreign Languages decided to hold an orientation meeting to introduce the thought of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China with Secretary Yang Binzhang being the chief speaker.

During the orientation meeting, Secretary Yang Binzhang delivered the introduction to the foreign teachers from four perspectives in English: first, he introduced the fundamental organizational structure, the contents and procedures of the convening of the National Congress of the Communist Party of China as well as the selection mode of its representatives; second, he elaborated on the primary proceedings and essential achievements of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China, especially introduced the the newly elected members of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China; third, he illustrated the major contents and thought of the work statement delivered by General Secretary Xi Jinping on behalf of the Central Committee and introduced the key focuses of General Secretary on the socialist ideology with Chinese characteristics in the new era, involving the connotation of the new era, the features of new contradictions and the design of new objectives in particular; four, he expressed expectations for the foreign teachers.

Yang Binzhang stated that the foreign teachers would be expected to cherish the opportunity to work in China as well as the opportunity to participate and witness the realization of a moderately prosperous society and modernization drive in China. The foreign teachers would be expected to propose valuable suggestions for the development of NEFU and the enhancement of teaching quality. The foreign teachers expressed their gratitude to the CPC Party Committee of the College of Foreign Languages for the special briefing about the thought of the 19th National Congress of the Communist Party of China and hoped that they could have more opportunities to acquire further understanding about China.
