Recently, students of our university achieved excellent results in the China Education Robot Contest, and won 1 National Grand Prize, 5 first prizes, and 3 second prizes. NEFU won the Outstanding Organization Award, and instructors won the Excellent Instructor Award.
Sponsored by the China Association for Artificial Intelligence (CAAI), hosted by Hunan University of Commerce, and co-hosted by Machinery Specialty Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, the 2017 China Education Robot Contest received nearly 40,000 contestants of more than 300 teams from nearly a hundred colleges and universities in 23 provinces and autonomous regions, such as Beijing Institute of Technology, Nanjing University, Southeast University, Air Force Engineering University, and Xi'an Science and Technology University. In the contest, under the guidance of Yang Jiawu and Sun Xue, students of our university participated in several competitions such as robotics creative game, fire fighting and rescue, visit China on high-speed rail, the arena confrontation, intelligent handling, and other projects.
The Education Robot Contest takes scientific quality-oriented education, engineering quality-oriented education, and engineering skills education as the purpose, working to cultivate innovative talents and promote education reform. All of the four major components of a robot, namely machinery, control, sensors and software, are open and extensible to meet the teaching and training requirements. The contest has been highly valued by the global education community for its interest, challenge, comprehensiveness and competitiveness and has been rapidly developed.
