December 1st, 2017 is the 30th World AIDS Day. The theme of this year’s World AIDS Day is “Jointly Shouldering the Responsibility of AIDS Prevention Responsibility, Jointly Enjoying the Rights of Physical Health and Jointly Promoting the Well-being of Chinese”. In order to prevent AIDS, the NEFU Hospital launched a series of campaigns with the theme of “Coming Close for Love, Keeping away from AIDS”.
On November 14th, the associate chief physician of NEFU hospital delivered a lecture for the college students on AIDS prevention titled “Keeping Away from AIDS, Shouldering the Accountability of Self-discipline”. On November 27th, NEFU hospital, the Youth League Committee of NEFU and the General Volunteer Association of College Students co-sponsored the World AIDS Day Performance with the theme of “Jointly Shouldering the Responsibility of AIDS Prevention, Jointly Enjoying the Rights of Physical Health and Jointly Promoting the Well-being of Chinese”. On November 30th, as the only primary-level department on AIDS prevention among the universities in Heilongjiang province, NEFU hospital participated the “2017 Heilongjiang World AIDS Day Theme Activity ”held by Heilongjiang Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention and Harbin Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention. On December 1st, NEFU hospital and Harbin Municipal Center for Disease Control and Prevention held a campaign on AIDS Prevention in Danqing Building of NEFU. From November 20th to December 30th, Group of Young and Healthy Partners, a student society affiliated to NEFU hospital co-hosted a series of activities including the “2017 National AIDS Knowledge Contest for College Students”, World AIDS Day Campaign, Movie Week on AIDS Prevention as well as Contest on Theme Essays Titled “My View on AIDS”.
“Only by keeping away from AIDS can we enjoy love. Love is refraining rather than hurt, jointly promoting AIDS prevention yet not prohibiting love and eradicating the hazard to whole life...”, the lyrics of the song ‘Love without AIDS’, a public welfare song about AIDS prevention composed and sung by NEFU students and performed by the medical staff of NEFU hospital in sign language. The emotional expression, appropriate attire, graceful gesture, deep feeling as well as the beautiful singing of the performers struck a chord in the audience.
Since 2015 when NEFU hospital took the lead in the pilot work on AIDS prevention in NEFU, under the correct leadership of the CPC Party Committee of NEFU along with the positive cooperation of the Youth League Committee of NEFU and the Department of Student Affairs of NEFU, a series of AIDS prevention activities for college students have been launched according to detailed plans, steps and orders and accomplished favorable effects.
