Recently, theChina Innovative University Training and Discipline Competition Assessmentwas pre-released by the expert team of theUniversity Competition Assessment and Management Systemof the China Institute of Higher Education. NEFU ranked 71 according to the 2012-2016 national university competition assessment, and was among the best among peer universities and universities in Heilongjiang Province.
Based mainly on university student competitions sponsored by the Ministry of Education in 2007, 2008, and 2010, “Internet +” and “Challenge Cup” competitions as well as the ACM-ICPC International Collegiate Programming Contest, the expert team of the Discipline Competition Assessment selected 18 competitions and ranked universities nationwide according to these competition results.
NEFU ranks 71 inthe2012-2016 National University Competition Assessment (undergraduate) TOP300with a total score of 71.01, which has come out in front among our peer universities and universities in Heilongjiang Province. In addition, NEFU ranked 80, 59 and 60 according to theNational University Competition Assessment (Undergraduate)in 2014, 2015 and 2016 with a total score of 66.3, 75.14, and 73.86 respectively.
Since 2012, NEFU has been supporting the participation of college students in all kinds of competitions at all levels with special funds to foster their innovative abilities. In recent years, NEFU has further increased funding and encouraged colleges to carry out the “college cup” and all kinds of discipline competitions, so as to cultivate the students’ innovation and entrepreneurship ability. By the end of 2016, students of NEFU have received 2,093 rewards from provincial and ministerial competitions. In particular, NEFU has won seven bronze medals in the Internet + Collegiate Student Innovation and Entrepreneurship Contest and won 1 first prize and 3 second prizes in the International Genetic Engineering Machine Competition (iGEM). As the second batch of Demonstration Universities for Deepening Innovation and Entrepreneurship Education Reform by the Ministry of Education, NEFU will further deepen the reform of the innovation and entrepreneurship education, continue to support the colleges to carry out all kinds of competitions and encourage students to participate in international and domestic discipline competitions as well as innovation and entrepreneurship Contest, and Enhance Students' innovation and entrepreneurship ability.
