Recently, Ministry of Education and China Engineering Education Accreditation Association have officially issued “The Notification on Accreditation Results of 293 Majors involving the Mechanical Engineering Major of University of Science and Technology Beijing” (No.10, CEEAA, 2018). The Traffic Transportation Major of NEFU passed the accreditation of China Engineering Education Major. The period of validity is 6 years, that is, from January, 2018 to December, 2023.

The panel of experts of China Engineering Education Accreditation Association arrived at NEFU on June 21, 2018 to conduct site inspection of the Traffic Transportation Major of NEFU for two and a half days. Through a wide range of manners including listening to briefings, holding discussions, attending and observing lectures and searching materials, the panel of experts examined the current construction of the Traffic and Transportation Major in terms of student cultivation, graduation requirements, constant improvement, curriculum systems, faculty and supporting conditions, etc. At the feedback meeting, the panel of experts granted a high appraisal to the Traffic Transportation Major of NEFU.

NEFU has attached great importance to the engineering education accreditation. The Teaching and Research Quality Control Center and the Office of Academic Affairs have held many learning surveys, seminars, coordinated meetings and training sessions so as to coordinate with relevant functional departments and colleges to jointly advance the accreditation of the Traffic Transportation Major.

The successful engineering education accreditation of the Traffic Transportation Major is another significant achievement in deepening the comprehensive reform of undergraduate teaching and intensifying “connotative development”, providing successful experience for the construction and development of engineering majors of NEFU. NEFU will take the accreditation as an opportunity to constantly strengthen the connotative construction of majors, highlight the particular features, enhance the construction level and the quality of teaching and talent cultivation in an all round way.
