On October 16th, a lecture on how to publish an SCI paper was held in Room 310 of Science and Technology Building. Dr. Mulualem Tigabu, editorial and reviewer of internationally renowned magazines and professor of silviculture at the Swedish Agricultural University was invited to have an in-depth discussion with the teachers and students of NEFU on how to publish SCI papers. More than 100 teachers and students came to the lecture.
Dr. Mulualem gave a wonderful lecture on how to write a SCI paper. He said that the publication of SCI papers really needs ideas, which is not only the repetition of outlines, but, more importantly, comprehensively and effectively arranged content and results of experiments according to the purpose of the experiment. Dr. Mulualem’s lecture was rich in content with rigorous logic as well, which was beneficial for the teachers and students.
After the lecture, many students realized that the papers were not only the listing and description of content, but also the arrangement of the rich data, the detailed and reliable research content, as well as the rigorous and comprehensive narrative logic. This lecture provided new ideas and new methods for everyone to successfully write papers in the future.
Zhao Xiyang, deputy director of the State Key Laboratory of Forest Genetics and Breeding, said that the writing and publication of papers was one of the important approaches in promoting one’s scientific research, and the laboratory would continue to emphasize on strengthening the cultivation of students' scientific research ability and provide platform for more young talents.
From October 17th to 18th, there were two other lectures on “How to deal with the forms and data in papers” and “How to write a literature review of SCI”, and all the teachers and students were welcome to attend.
