The competition was hosted by 11 national ministries and commissions including the Ministry of Education and the Communist Youth League Central Committee. It aims to deepen the reform of innovation and entrepreneurship education, stimulate the creativity of college students, and develop the main force that creates "mass entrepreneurship and innovation." It is the nation's most extensive and influential innovation and entrepreneurship event for university students. This year's competition attracted 2.65 million college students and 640,000 teams from 2278 colleges and universities across the country, and the number of projects and students was 1.7 times that of the previous competition, which exceeded the total number of students in the previous three competitions. After a series of selection, a total of 382 teams and more than 8,000 college students entered the finals.
Since the launch of this competition, our university has been carefully preparing and selecting excellent projects recommended by the college based on the College Students Entrepreneurship Park. It is one of the educational achievements of the university in deepening the innovation and entrepreneurship education reform. Among these projects, Dr. Lian Bolin's "Bolin Science and Technology - Water-soluble Plant Source Health Industry" project was supervised by Professor Zhao Xiuhua, Professor Fu Yujie, and Professor Zu Yuangang from the Key Laboratory of the Forest Plant Ecology Ministry of Education in NEFU. The team consisted of experts and professors in the fields of botany and biopharmaceutics. The project was dedicated to the deep development and utilization of forest source botanicals, efficient purification of effective active ingredients from plant sources, and improvement of nano-drug preparation process for poorly soluble drugs. Yin Yuxiang, the 2015 undergraduate student of the College of Wildlife Resources, was in charge of the "Huaihua Yuxiang Frog Breeding Professional Cooperative" project, which was supervised by the Professor Zeng Xiangwei, to revitalize the countryside with innovative entrepreneurial achievements and help the poor. Yin Yuxiang set up a post-90s college student entrepreneurship team to develop a new and characteristic agricultural frog breeding industry. At present, the Cooperative has been established, with a total breeding area of 13.3 hectares, leading more than 20 farmers in the surrounding areas to increase their income, with an estimated total output value of 5 million RMB.
