From October 20th to 21st, the finals of the national colleges and universities BIM Application Skills Competition (undergraduate group) were held at the Jincheng College of Sichuan University. More than 1,400 undergraduates from over 190 colleges and universities participated in this competition. The team of 2016 Engineering Management Undergraduates from the College of Civil Engineering performed well in the competition and won the first prize in the Special Competition of Construction and Decoration Engineering Calculation, and the second prize in the BIM Cost Team Competition.

This year's BIM Application Skills Competition was hosted by the China Association of Construction Education (CACE) and organized by Jincheng College of Sichuan University. Both a BIM cost application skills competition and a BIM construction project management skills competition were included in the contest events. Based on real project cases, the competition applied BIM series software to simulate actual work scenarios to the greatest extent, to achieve BIM collaboration among college architecture majors, to improve practice and innovation ability of students, and to enhance their teamwork ability, thereby promoting the teaching reform and improving the teaching quality in colleges and universities.
