On January 27th, Professor Cai Mingzhe, director of the Experimental Forest Management Division of Taiwan University, visited NEFU. President Li Bin met with the delegation in the conference room on the 7th floor of the administration building. Li Fengri, assistant to the president, and Sun Hongzhi, director of the Hong Kong,Macaoand Taiwan Office, attended the meeting.
On behalf of the school, President Li Bin warmly welcomed Professor Cai Mingzhe and his entourage, and introduced the basic situation of the Experimental Forest Farms both inMaoershanMountainand Liangshui National Nature Reserve. He said that NEFU attached great importance to the construction of forest farms, and was formulating forest farm development plans, promoting the reform of the management system, further exerting the role of forest farms in ecological civilization construction, and striving to turn forest farms into teaching and research practice bases and ecological civilization education bases. There are many similarities in the development orientation and management mechanisms of the experimental forest farms between the two universities. NEFU hopes to learn the management experience fromTaiwanUniversityand promote the reform of the forest farms.
Professor Cai Mingzhe said that the experimental forest farm ofTaiwanUniversityhas made some attempts at community forestry, forest amusement, organic tea management, forest healing, forest product processing, and forest economy and has achieved good economic and social benefits and accumulated some experience.TaiwanUniversityis willing to share with NEFU and hopes to further promote exchanges and cooperation between the two universities on the basis of the cooperation in experimental forest farms.
