From March 15th to 19th, Prof. Park Seung-ho, the Dean of the School of Forestry from Kim Il-sung University, Democratic People's Republic of Korea, came to NEFU for a visit.
On the morning of March 16th, the two sides held a meeting in Room 517 of the School of Forestry. Li Fengri, the Assistant President of NEFU, the Dean of the School of Forestry, Sun Hongzhi, the Director of the International Cooperation Division, and the staff and teachers from the School of Forestry attended the meeting. The meeting was hosted by Sun Long, the Deputy Dean of the School of Forestry.
At the meeting, Li Fengri and Sun Hongzhi gave a welcome speech and a brief introduction of NEFU and the School of Forestry respectively. Later, Park Seung-ho introduced the visitors from Kim Il-sung University and made a speech. During the discussion, the two sides conducted in-depth exchanges on the cooperation needs, the specific communication patterns, and the joint research areas to be carried out. A signing ceremony was held for the exchanges and cooperation between the two universities in education and science.
During their stay in NEFU, Dean Park Seung-ho and his entourage visited the Forest Protection Laboratory, the Mao’ershan Forest Farm, the Museum, the State Key Laboratory of Tree Genetics and Breeding, and the Ecological Center. They also viewed and emulated the teaching environment and teaching modes in NEFU. In addition, Park Seung-ho also visited theSchool of International Education and Exchanges. Luo Ying, the Deputy Dean of the School of International Education and Exchanges, introduced the basic situation of the international student education and the study and life of North Korean students in NEFU. Yue Xihua, the Deputy Dean of the School of International Education and Exchanges, gave a detailed introduction to the enrollment program for international students, and sincerely welcomed more outstanding North Korean students to come to NEFU for further study. Li Qingri, an official from the International Cooperation Office of Kim Il-sung University, gave a brief introduction of Kim Il-sung University. Taking this visit as an opportunity, he hoped that the two universities would gradually promote cooperation in the long and short term study abroad programs, and jointly cultivate more outstanding forestry talents to contribute to the development of forestry in both countries. The schedule of this visit was compact and orderly. Professor Li Chengde, Professor Han Huilin and Secretary Cui Donghai from the School of Forestry accompanied the guests and had in-depth exchanges on professional issues such as forest protection.

International exchanges and cooperation between universities are the windows to the world. While exchanging cultural ideas and resources with foreign universities, NEFU also showed the world its development and achievements on education, and enhanced its international influence and popularity.
