Recently, the highest and most authoritative competitions for urban and rural planning majors in China, the 2020 WUPENiCity International Competition on Urban Sustainability Reports and the 2020 WUPENiCity International Competition on Course Works of Urban Planning and Design Students came to an end. Nearly 2,500 students from dozens of domestic and international universities participated in this competition, and the works of the urban and rural planning majors from the College of Landscape Architecture of our university stood out among nearly 1,000 entries and won 5 nomination prizes.

The competition is jointly organized by the World Urban Planning Education Network (WUPEN) and the UNESCO iCity Knowledge Service System, and is open to all universities and colleges in the world that offer courses related to urban and rural planning and urban design, in order to promote exchanges between higher education, teachers and students in international urban and rural planning and related disciplines. It is the highest and most authoritative competition for urban and rural planning professionals in China. The competition consists of three categories of awards: Award of Best Design, Nomination Award and Popularity Award.

Among the five nominations, the work Research on the Phenomenon of Different Uses of Public Space in Residential Areas under the guidance of Ren Zhihua and the workResearch on the Predicament of Stranger Communities from the Perspective of Community Public Space under the guidance of Pang Chunyu won Nomination Award for Sustainable Urban Research Report, and the worksInnovation - Metamorphosis,Rebirth of Mud Sculpture in Waterfront,Urban Design of Harbin Cement Plant Lot Based on the Theory of Healthy City under the guidance of Yang Xudong won Nomination Award for the Future Healthy City.
