From October 21 to October 24, the 17th China National Model United Nations Conference was held online. It was hosted by the United Nations Association of China, organized by the University of Electronic Science and Technology of China and co-organized by the Department of International Organizations and Conferences of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the People’s Republic of China. Four NEFUers participated in the conference, among which Liu Daochun, from the School of Law and Humanities, won the award of "Outstanding Journalist" (the highest award in the Model Main Press Center). Attracting 319 participants from over 100 universities, the conference was one of the activities to commemorate the 50th anniversary of the restoration of the lawful seat of the People’s Republic of China in the United Nations.

The UN Secretary-General Guterres said that the world is still in the midst of multiple crises caused by COVID-19 and it is the youth who play a leading role in promoting climate action, racial equality and gender equality in his congratulatory letter and speech video. He also stressed that the United Nations is a firm ally of all the youth and is ready to work with all parties to build a more sustainable and equitable world.
