On January 12, 2022, the third National Lecture Skills Competition for Young Teachers Majoring in Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering, co-organized by the Teaching Guidance Sub-Committee of Building Environment and Energy Application Engineering of Higher Learning Institutes of the Ministry of Education, the China Refrigeration Society and the “Heating Fund” Council of Qingdao University of Technology, came to a successful conclusion. Cao Junliang, a young teacher at the School of Civil Engineering of the Northeast Forestry University, won the second prize of the professional basic course group.
The purpose of the competition is to promote the professional development and teaching ability of young teachers majoring in building environment and energy application engineering in colleges and universities of China, improve the teaching effect and teaching quality, and enhance mutual learning and exchange of young teachers. The competition is held once a year and is divided into three parts: preliminary, semi-final and final. A total of 68 teachers from 45 colleges and universities of China signed up for the competition. 47 of them were teachers of professional basic courses and 21 taught professional courses. After the preliminary and semi-final competitions, a total of 11 teachers were shortlisted for the final stage of basic courses. In the final competition, Mr. Cao Junliang had clear thinking and strict logic. He sophisticatedly combined the theoretical knowledge of Heat Transfer with engineering cases, and skillfully integrated the ideological and political course, which fully demonstrated his good teaching quality and won unanimous praise from the experts and judges. He finally gained the fifth place in the national final.
The award in this competition reflects the high importance attached by the School of Civil Engineering to undergraduate teaching, reflects the efforts and exploration of young teachers in the reform of teaching methods. At the same time, it encourages young teachers’ enthusiasm for the research of professional curriculum teaching methods, and plays a positive role in continuously improving the undergraduate teaching level of the NEFU.
