Recently, the 17th National Competition of Transport Science and Technology for Students of “China Exhibition Logistics Cup”, sponsored by the China Institute of Communications Education and Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education for transportation majors in Colleges and Universities, has come to an end at Shanghai Maritime University. The second prize went to the polyfunctional steering wheel cover which is cloud-based, and to a warning device for when an electric vehicle is nearing charging time at a public charging station. Both of the entries are from the NEFU School of Traffic and Transportation.

With a theme of “Smart Transportation and Low-carbon Transportation”,thecompetition was officially launched in early March 2022, attracting the participation of 177 colleges and universities and receiving 1,473 works. After professional evaluation, a total of 206 works from 93 universities went into the national finals.

The School of Traffic and Transportationselected outstanding works throughon-campus trials and provincial competitions. After more than half a year's preparation, the teams completed their prototypes, experimental data and the research reports. In the final stage, the contestants introduced theirdesigningprocess, innovationsand application of the works in detail and answered the judges’ questions.

NACTranSis the top competition with the greatest social impact, which has the largest number of participating universities and students in transportation engineeringofChina. It is also in theranking list of national college students’ competition. In the spiritof “science, innovation and coordination”, with the aim of solving scientific and technical problems in transportation, it is engaged in in cultivating college students’ abilities in science, innovation, application and cooperation and in building a platform for national universities to jointly discuss the future development of transportation.
