Recently, the list of scholarship winners of “The 2021 Chinese College Students Self-improvement Stars” was announced, and Yin Kai, a doctoral student of forestry in the College of Wildlife Resources, Class of 2020, was awarded “2021 Self-improvement Star” and a New Oriental Self-improvement Scholarship.

During his study in NEFU, Kai Yin has been exploring and innovating in his field, and has built a solid scientific foundation and achieved excellent results. Since 2017, He has published 24 SCI papers, all of which are in JCR1 zone, and 6 papers are in TOP journals; of which 7 papers have been published as the first author, with a total impact factor of 59.989 and 124 citations.

Since the establishment of this scholarship in 2007, in NEFU one student has been awarded the “Star Model of Self-improvement” and 10 students have been awarded the “Self-improvement Star”, and only 150 students have been awarded this honor in the past 15 years. 21 students have been awarded the “Nomination Award of Self-improvement”.

The 2021 scholarship promotion activity is guided by the Central Committee of the Communist Youth League and the All-China Students’ Federation, and jointly organized by China Youth Daily. The selection targets are the role models who have outstanding deeds in devoting themselves to the prevention and control of the COVID-19 pandemic, serving to build a moderately prosperous society, helping to revitalize the countryside, participating in social governance innovation, promoting online civilization, helping to promote academic and scientific progress, etc., and can play an exemplary and leading role among contemporary college students.
