The 10th Conference of the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Joint Committee and its 10th anniversary celebration were held at Shanghai Jiaotong University from October 10 to 12. Aulin College was honored with the "Outstanding Contribution Award" for its achievements in Sino-Foreign cooperative education.
The conference was guided by the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange of the Ministry of Education and organized by the Joint Committee of Sino-Foreign Cooperative Educational Institutions. Shanghai Jiaotong University of Michigan College hosted it, with support from the Shanghai Jiaotong University of Paris Elite Institute of Technology and the Shanghai Jiaotong University-USC Institute of Cultural and Creative Industries.
Themed "Implementing the Spirit of the 3rd Plenary Session of the 20th CPC Central Committee: Promoting National Development through Science and Education with High-Quality Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education," the conference featured five specialized sub-forums focusing on critical areas of Sino-Foreign cooperative education. These included: "Development Paths for Sino-Foreign Engineering Education under the National Science and Education Strategy," "Empowering Education with Digital Intelligence: Challenges and Opportunities for Sino-Foreign Cooperation," "Innovations in Teacher Competency in the Age of Smart Education," "Curriculum Innovation and System Design in Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education under the 'Three Innovations' Background," and "High-Quality Development in Sino-Foreign Vocational Education." The event aimed to explore the latest trends, challenges, and responsibilities in Sino-Foreign cooperative education and develop new strategies and innovative measures for high-quality development, further deepening the openness of education to the world.
On the morning of October 11, the 10th Conference of the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Joint Committee and the celebration of its 10th anniversary officially opened. Distinguished guests who attended and delivered speeches included Ding Kuiling, President of Shanghai Jiaotong University and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences; Jia Peng, Deputy Director of the Department of International Cooperation and Exchange at the Ministry of Education; and Ye Linlin, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Education Commission. Other notable attendees included Zong Wa, former Deputy Secretary General of the China Education Association for International Exchange; Hao Fanghua, professor at Beijing Normal University and former President of Central China Normal University; Ma Dexiu, former Party Secretary of Shanghai Jiao Tong University; and Ni Jun, Vice Chairman of the Shanghai Jiaotong University Committee, Chief Manufacturing Officer of CATL, and founding dean of the University of Michigan College. Zhao Yanzhi, President of Shenyang University and Chair of the Joint Committee, delivered the work report. Over 400 participants from 205 Sino-Foreign cooperative education institutions and projects across the country attended the meeting.
Liu Zhiming, Dean of Aulin College at Northeast Forestry University, and Vice Dean Zhang Mingjin participated in the plenary sessions and relevant sub-forum activities. They engaged in in-depth discussions and exchanged ideas with representatives at the sub-forum on “Teacher Competency Innovation in the Era of Smart Education.”
At the 10th Anniversary Conference of the Sino-Foreign Cooperative Education Joint Committee, Aulin College was honored with the “Outstanding Contribution Award.” The award was presented by Zhao Yanzhi, President of Shenyang University and Chair of the Joint Committee, to representatives from Aulin College.
