The first Heilongjiang Province “Dingxiang Cup” International Student Cricket League, guided by the Heilongjiang Provincial Department of Education and hosted by Harbin Engineering University, concluded successfully on May 4th. After fierce competition, the NEFU international student team, demonstrating superb skills and seamless teamwork, defeated a formidable opponent in the final to ultimately secure the championship title with an outstanding performance.

This league brought together six elite teams from universities, including Harbin Institute of Technology, Harbin Engineering University, Northeast Agricultural University, and NEFU. Over the three-day tournament, the participating teams fully showcased international students' vibrant and positive spirit, presenting a series of thrilling cricket matches for the spectators.

The NEFU team demonstrated formidable strength from the moment the group stage began. With solid fundamentals and flexible tactical coordination, the players advanced through each round, ultimately delivering an outstanding performance in the final and securing the championship trophy with a decisive advantage. After the match, the team captain, Hassan, a Pakistani Master’s student from the College of Forestry, expressed his excitement, saying, “This championship belongs to the entire team. I am grateful to NEFU for providing excellent training conditions and logistical support. I also thank the organizing committee for allowing us international students to learn from and exchange with each other.”

The “Dingxiang Cup” International Student Cricket League marks the first time Heilongjiang Province has hosted a dedicated sports event for international students at its universities. The head of the event’s organizing committee stated that in the future, they plan to refine the event system further and expand the scale of participation, striving to develop it into an important platform and signature event for cultural exchange among international students in the province.
