From August 1 to 4, 2025, the 1st High-End Forum on Green Catalysis, hosted by Northeast Forestry University (NEFU) and organized by NEFU’s College of Chemistry, Chemical Engineering, and Resource Utilization, was successfully held at NEFU. Over 160 renowned experts, scholars, and young talents from more than 30 research institutions, including Peking University, Fudan University, Sichuan University, Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (CAS), and the University of Science and Technology of China, attended the forum.
The forum aimed to implement the national green development strategy, promote frontier exploration and technological innovation in the field of green chemistry. It focused on national key needs, including green synthesis, biomass valorization, and small molecule conversion. The forum featured discussions on topics including green photoelectrocatalysis, green thermal catalysis, and green organic catalysis, bringing together top scholars from both China and abroad to discuss development opportunities, challenges, and explore the innovative trends and application prospects of green catalysis technologies.
Professor Li Bin from NEFU hosted the opening ceremony, and NEFU’s Standing Committee Member of the Party Committee and Vice President Yu Haipeng delivered the opening address.

Professor Zhang Tao from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (CAS) gave the keynote speech titled “Single-Atom Catalysis”, Professor Zhao Dongyuan from Fudan University delivered a keynote speech entitled “Creation and Development of Functional Mesoporous Materials”, Professor Feng Xiaoming from Sichuan University gave a keynote titled “New Catalysts, New Reactions Provide Efficient Pathways for the Synthesis of Important Target Molecules” and Professor Yan Chunhua from Peking University presented “Catalysis of Ceria-based Nanostructures.”
In addition, Professor Gong Liuzhu from the University of Science and Technology of China, Professor Wei Min from Beijing University of Chemical Technology, Professor Jia Chunjiang from Shandong University, Researcher Mei Tiansheng from Shanghai Institute of Organic Chemistry (CAS), Professor Liu Bin from City University of Hong Kong, Professor Cui Wenquan from North China University of Science and Technology, Professor Guo Qixiang from Southwest University, Professor Gao Dewei from ShanghaiTech University, Editor Zhang Ge from ACS Journals, Editor Zhang Lijuan from JES Editorial Office, and Director Wang Fenge from the Journal of the Chinese Rare Earths Editorial Office delivered keynote speeches.
The keynote speeches delivered by the professors and experts sparked widespread resonance and intense discussions among the attendees. The forum’s agendas were all completed successfully, achieving fruitful results.
