From November 8th to 9th, the 12th Heilongjiang Student Health & Fitness Competition, organized by the Heilongjiang Province Education Department and the Student Physical Education Association, was held at Harbin Guangsha College. Led by Guan Dapeng, the Director of the Department of Physical Education, and coached by Cao Chunyan, the NEFU DanceSport Team performed exceptionally well. With superb technique, elegant style, and a strong competitive spirit, the team emerged as a top performer, winning 13 first-place titles and earning 43 awards in total. Amid fierce competition, NEFU dancers impressed judges and spectators with their passionate Latin routines and graceful standard ballroom performances. From the lively energy of the cha-cha and rumba to the refined elegance of the waltz and tango, NEFU students demonstrated respect for their opponents, adherence to rules, confidence, and composure—fully embodying the university’s philosophy of “cultivating character through sports.” With an impressive total of 13 individual championships and 43 awards, the team stood out as one of the top contenders in this year’s competition, earning broad recognition from other universities.

NEFU has long emphasized the importance of sports in developing students’ well-rounded character, boosting their determination, and improving their aesthetic appreciation. The university offers strong support for top-tier athletic teams, such as the DanceSport Team, ensuring proper training and growth opportunities. Through consistent daily practice and challenging competitions, team members have not only enhanced their technical skills but also cultivated teamwork, perseverance, and a confident, positive outlook on life. Moving forward, NEFU will continue to deepen reforms in physical education, foster a lively campus sports culture, and encourage students to enjoy sports, improve their physical fitness, build strong character, and strengthen their willpower—ultimately helping them become well-rounded individuals prepared for the challenges of the new era.
