On April 14th, the award ceremony for the Agricultural Chemistry session of the 35th Annual Meeting of the Chinese Chemical Society was held at the Chongqing Science and Technology Hall. Li Siqi, Associate Professor in the College of Chemical Engineering and Resource Utilization, received the Chinese Chemical Society “Sinochem Yangnong” Agrochemistry Rising Star Award. Only five individuals nationwide received this honor.

The Chinese Chemical Society “Sinochem Yangnong” Agrochemistry Rising Star Award for Agricultural Chemistry was established by the Agricultural Chemistry Committee of the Chinese Chemical Society to recognize outstanding young scholars who have demonstrated remarkable achievements and strong potential for interdisciplinary innovation at the intersection of chemistry and agriculture. It is regarded as one of the most prestigious and competitive academic honors for early-career researchers in agricultural chemistry in China.

Li Siqi’s research focuses on sensor technologies for agriculture, forestry, and food-related fields. Her work centers on developing portable electrochemical sensors to detect organophosphorus and other pesticide residues, enabling real-time, on-site assessment of agricultural product safety. She has published more than 20 papers in leading international journals as first or corresponding author, has been granted seven invention patents, has served as the sole editor of a monograph published by Chemical Industry Press, and has led nearly 10 research projects, including the General Program and Young Scientists Fund of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, as well as provincial- and ministerial-level projects.
