On April 12th, the launch ceremony for NEFU’s 2025-2026 Spring Semester Sports and Culture Festival and the “President’s Cup” Series was held at the track and field. Liu Shouxin, a member of NEFU’s CPC Standing Committee and Vice President, attended the ceremony, along with party secretaries and deputy secretaries from relevant colleges. The ceremony was presided over by Guan Dapeng, Director of the Department of Physical Education.

This year’s Sports and Cultural Festival features a diverse range of events with distinctive highlights, organized into nine major categories. These include dynamic table tennis, agile badminton, high-intensity rugby, elegant tennis, fast-paced basketball, the balance of strength and flexibility in taekwondo, and the rich tradition of Chinese martial arts, as well as newly introduced events such as the Campus Eco-Triathlon and a Campus Guinness-style Challenge. Balancing competition with enjoyment, the festival caters to the diverse sporting needs of students and faculty alike, injecting vitality into campus life.

In her remarks, Zhuang Wenpei, Secretary of the NEFU Youth League Committee, outlined three expectations for young people across the university: to uphold a strong sense of responsibility and align their enthusiasm for sports with the national mission to advance the Healthy China initiative and build a strong sporting nation; to challenge themselves and forge resilient character through sports; and to take the lead as pioneers in sports and as ambassadors of health.

Shi Xiaoyi from the College of Wildlife and Protected Area solemnly took the oath on behalf of all referees, while Wang Binbin from the College of Home and Art Design took the oath on behalf of all athletes.

Liu Shouxin officially declared the opening of NEFU’s 2026 Spring Semester Sports and Cultural Festival.

During the ceremony, the university’s Dance Sport Team and Martial Arts Team took turns performing a series of spectacular routines. Zhao Xinyong, Party Secretary of the College of Landscape Architecture, performed the ceremonial kickoff for the rugby match.

By strengthening the body through sports and nurturing the mind through culture, this Sports and Cultural Festival will further enrich campus cultural life, promote the spirit of sportsmanship, and inspire NEFU students to stride onto the track of youth with vigor and strong physiques, writing a vibrant chapter of endeavor for the youth of the new era.
