On July 19, the national finals of the 12th “Bosch Cup” National College Students Mechanical Innovation Design Competition’s regular competition concluded successfully at Harbin Institute of Technology. Demonstrating strong engineering competence and outstanding innovation, students from our university won two national first prizes, one second prize, and three third prizes, achieving our university’s best-ever performance in the competition.

The National College Students Mechanical Innovation Design Competition is a national Category A science and technology competition approved by the Ministry of Education’s Department of Higher Education and organized by the Teaching Steering Committee for Mechanical Engineering Disciplines of Higher Education Institutions under the Ministry of Education. It is also among the key competitions supported by the Ministry of Education and the Ministry of Finance’s “Quality Project.” With the theme “Dexterous and Intelligent Design for a Better Life,” this year’s regular competition focused on three design areas: machinery for the primary processing of selected aquatic products; integrated machinery for the cleaning, processing, and packaging of leafy vegetables; and high-performance biomimetic butterfly designs. Teams from our university closely aligned their projects with the competition theme and advanced through successive rounds of university- and provincial-level selection. Ultimately, six teams qualified for the national finals and all six received awards, marking a historic achievement for our university in this competition.
