About the speaker:

Dr. Hou Xin is a scholar among the 12th batch ofRecruitment Program of Foreign Experts.  As a researcher of Wuhan University and a doctoral advisor, she is also the deputy director of the Department of Genetics, and the deputy director of the Key Laboratory of Heterosis and Utilization of Indica Rice of the Ministry of Agriculture.

She received her doctorate from Huazhong Agricultural University in 2009, afterwards, she did the postdoctoral research at the University of California, Berkeley. In March 2015, she joined the College of Life Sciences of Wuhan University and established the Laboratory of Plant Stress Biology. Her research focuses on plant stress physiology and molecular genetics and the regulatory mechanism of plant photosynthesis.
